The New Brunswick/PEI Major Midget League (NBPEIMML) completed week two of their regular schedule and here's a recap of the weekend's events.
There were six games on tap this past weekend split up into three two game days, so we'll just start you off at the beginning.
On Friday night, the St. John's Vitos hosted the Moncton Flyers, but it wasn't a whole lot of fun for the home team. The Flyers blanked the Vitos 4-0 with Moncton netminder Julian Galloway getting the shut out.
The other game of the night saw the Miramichi Rivermen take down the Charlottetown Islanders in a high scoring 7-4 contest. Roch Theriault scored twice for the Rivermen while Cole Trepanier picked two assists on the night.
Saturday's match ups started with the Charlottetown Islanders hosting the Fredericton Canadiens that ended up in a 4-3 decision for the Islanders, who rebounded from getting blanked on Friday.
The Flyers and Wild fought to a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation, but the Flyers prevailed in ovetime with the 3-2 victory.
Sunday's games featured a 1:45 start in Charlottetown as the Islanders were doubled up on by the Kensington Wild 4-2 and the last game of the weekend betwewen the Canadiens and Vitos was a close one with Fredericton coming out on top 5-4.
The standing show Moncton on top with a perfect 4-0-0-0 record for eight points followed Kensington in second place with a 3-0-0-1 record totaling seven points.
Third place belongs to Miramichi with a 2-1-0-1 for five points with Fredericton at three points in fourth with Saint John and Charlottetown tied for 5th, both with only two points.
