NBPEIMML: Flyers Retake Lead In Provincial Championship*

MONCTON, NB, March 24, 2015 - The Moncton Marks Work Wearhouse Flyers have taken a 6-4 points lead in the first to reach 8 point provincial finals fifth game with a 5-3 win over the Fredericton Canadiens, who had a 4-2 lead after the third game. Thursday night is the next game of the series at Willie O’Ree Place in Fredericton.
The Flyers started the game just past the midway point of the first on a power play goal by Alexandre Bernier but the Canadiens came back with a goal with just over two minutes left in the opening period with a goal by Mika Cyr who took a pass from Sam Jeffrey in his own zone and skated down the length of the ice then shot it high over goaltender Julian Galloway’s shoulder to knot the score.
The rest of the scoring was in the second with the Flyers jumping out to a two goal lead with a pair of power play goals. The first came off the stick of Chris Sarault and the second from Nolan Alward. However the lead didn’t last long as the Canadiens roared back just 26 seconds later with a pair in just over a minute of play to tie the score once again. Logan Johnston and Adam Crowe on a power play scored with Cyr getting assists on both.
It was the Flyers turn again at scoring in the last minute of the second as they added a pair of goals to take the 5-3 lead that lasted the rest of the way. Kyle Ward scored ith just 55 seconds left on the clock and Nolan Alward added his second goal of the game with 11 seconds left. Alward also assisted on the first two goals of the game.
Sarault added a pair of goals as did Patrick Landry.
Galloway made 22 saves for the win. Jack Grant made 18 saves in the loss. The Canadiens pulled their goaltender with just over three minutes left in the game but failed to score and took a penalty at the 18:45 mark for too many men.
