COLE HARBOUR, N.S. – The Cape Breton West Islanders lost 4-1 to the Cole Harbour Pro Hockey Life Wolfpack in Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League action on Saturday.
The loss leaves the Islanders (10-12-2-1) in fifth-place in the eight-team league, while Cole Harbour (14-10-0-0) solidified its fourth-place standing.
An Avery Warner powerplay marker in the first period gave the Cape Breton club the lead and they hung onto it through the halfway mark of the contest.
Then Cole Harbour stormed back with four unanswered goals courtesy of a brace by Connor Welsh and single markers from Nicolas McFarlane and Aaron Maillet.
The Wolfpack outshot the visitors 30-21.
Tyler Howe was the winning keeper while Levi Denny suffered the loss.
The Cape Breton West Islanders will look to bounce back when the two teams meet again Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Cole Harbour Place.
