TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – HALIFAX MCDONALD’S
The Halifax McDonald’s are regular season champions of the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League, but just barely.

Halifax entered the final game on its schedule one point behind their opponents, the Newbridge Academy Gladiators, and earned a nail-biting 5-4 shootout win to pull even with the Gladiators in points, and take first place based on more wins (24-22).

The defending NSMMHL and Atlantic Region champions, the Macs came out of the gate flying, winning 11 of their first 12 games, including a season-high 10 in a row from Sept. 20-Oct 19.

Shane Bowers was the offensive leader for Halifax, pacing the NSMMHL with 23 goals and 52 points. In goal, Kirklin Allen (11-6, 2.82 GAA, .921 SV%) and Matt Welsh (13-4, 3.36, .903) made 18 appearances apiece.
