Canada announced its national junior hockey team selection camp roster on Wednesday and Shaunavon’s Kole Lind has made the cut.

Lind currently plays for the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League, after previously suiting up for the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League’s Saskatoon Contacts.

He will compete against 31 other camp invitees, including 17 other forwards, from Dec. 12 to 15 in St. Catharines, Ont.  

WHL players on Saskatchewan team rosters also making the camp roster are Sam Steel (forward) and Josh Mahura (defence) both of the Regina Pats, Tyler Steenbergen (forward) of the Swift Current Broncos and Brett Howden (forward) from the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Following the four-day selection camp, Canada will pare the roster down to 22 athletes who will compete in the world junior tournament from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Buffalo.
