The Western Hockey League’s Portland Winterhawks added three players to its roster Tuesday morning, including Jaydon Dureau of the Regina Pat Canadians.

The 16-year-old Dureau currently leads the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League in scoring with 48 points (23 goals, 25 assists) in 24 games.

A native of White City, Dureau was in his first season with the Pat Canadians after spending the 2016-17 season with the SMAAAHL’s Saskatoon Blazers.

Dureau is the second member of the Pat Canadians to move to a WHL team this season. Defenceman Randen Schmidt was recalled by the Saskatoon Blades in mid-November.

The Pat Canadians are currently in second place in the SMAAAHL with 39 points in 24 games. The Notre Dames are in first place, two points ahead of the Pat Canadians.

Also joining the Winterhawks are forwards Connor Bowie and Seth Jarvis. The Winterhawks currently have four players attending world junior selection camps — forward Cody Glass (Canada), forward Kieffer Bellows (U.S.A.), forward Joachim Blichfeld (Denmark) and defenceman Henri Jokiharju (Finland).

The Winterhawks are currently atop the WHL’s U.S. Division with a record of 20-9-0-1.
