The Wild, members of the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League, dropped back-to-back inter-locking scheduled games against Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League teams.
The South Shore Mustangs and Newbridge Academy Gladiators each posted 4-2 victories at Community Gardens to drop Kensington’s record to 5-5-2 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses).
Mustangs 4 Wild 2
The Mustangs held period leads of 2-1 and 3-1 in Sunday afternoon’s contest.
Isaac Bridge, Walter Flower, Jack Creaser and Matt Baron scored for the Mustangs while Spencer Sherren and Max Morrison found the back of the net for the Wild, who received assists from Cole Hackett, Brodie MacArthur, Ryan Boswall and Cole Hackett.
Colby Muise earned the goaltending win over Bradley Shea. South Shore held a slim 30-29 shots-on-goal advantage.
Gladiators 4 Wild 2
Saturday night, Ryan MacDonald scored twice to lead the Gladiators, who received single tallies from Matt Crowell and Morgan Baron.
Jesse Annear and Zach Thususka countered for the Wild.
The Dartmouth-based Gladiators held period leads of 1-0 and 2-1.
Winning goaltender Aaron Mantle stopped 27 saves while Cameron Visser turned away 34 of 37 shots for the Wild. Newbridge Academy’s fourth goal was scored into an empty net.
