The Jr Knights held a 16 game winning streak as they went into Cambridge Friday night to take on the Hawks. Waiting for them seemed to be an endless trail to the penalty box.
The Jr Knights took the lead 1-0 midway through the 2nd however Cambridge replied with a pair to take a 2-1 lead through 40 minutes.
The Jr Knights tied it up at 2-2 just a minute into the final frame, however the Hawks scored 3 unanswered to win 5-2. The Jr Knights outshot the Hawks 37-15.
The Jr Knights were 0 for 2 on the PP while the Hawks went 2 for 8. Adam Keyes and Brandon Glover were the goal scorers for the Jr Knights, while Matthew Waller got the start in net.
On Saturday the Jr Knights headed to Sarnia to take on the Lambton Jr Sting. Once again the Jr Knights led in the penalty coloumn, however some strong PK work allowed the Jr Knights to come out on top 5-3.
The win was assisted with a explosive 3 goal outburst in the first 10 minutes of the game. Goal scorers in this one were Evan Hogg, Ryan Hopkins (2) and Curtis Ferriera (2). Zack Weir got the win in between the pipes.
On Sunday the Jr Knights looked to string together back to back wins to get the team back on a streak as they welcomed the Kitchener Jr Rangers to town.
The Jr Rangers got the only goal of the 1st as London trailed 1-0 through 20 minutes. The added another midway through the 2nd to take a 2-0 lead, however back to back Jr Knights goals 2 minutes apart tied things at 2-2.
The wild second frame continued with 2 more Jr Ranger goals and 1 more from the Jr Knights..... meaning it was 4-3 Kitchener after the 2nd.
A pair of goals from the Jr Knights gave London the lead late however Kitchener wouldn't go away as they tied things with just 46 seconds remaining to send the game to OT.
Overtime would solve nothing and we were headed to a shoot-out. The Jr Knights were able to win the shootout with a single goal while the Jr Rangers scored none, meaning the Jr Knights took the 6-5 win.
Goals were scored by Wes Kelly (2), Matt Poulin, Ethan Nother and Curtis Ferriera. The shoot-out winnre came of the stick of Brandon Glover. Once again Zack Weir took the W in net.
