BCMML: Okanagan Rockets Move Up In BCMML Standings*
- Submitted by

A week after dropping back-to-back games in Prince George, the Okanagan Rockets got back on track with a B.C. Major Midget League sweep on home ice.

The Rockets took two from the North Island Silvertips over the weekend at CNC to assume sole possession of second spot in the BCMML, three points up on the idle Northwest Giants (15-5-0) who hold two games in hand.

The Rockets (16-5-1) also recently picked up an extra win from the Greater Vancouver Canadians who had to forfeit a 4-2 victory in Kelowna on Nov. 2 due to an ineligible player.

Meanwhile, Okanagan has now won 16 consecutive games against the 'Tips, dating back to 2011.

On Saturday, against an undermanned North Island team, Ben Dietrich-Scammell had a two goals and an assist to pace the Rockets to a 6-2 win.

Brandon Whitle, Kaden Black, Lucas Cullen and Brett Witala scored the other Rockets goals.

Jordan Reynolds picked up his 10th win in goal for Okanagan as he turned aside 29 shots.

On Sunday, the Rockets snapped a 2-2 tie after two with a pair of third-period markers to beat the Silvertips 4-2.

Okanagan overcame a solid effort by North Island goalie Derek Krall who made 46 saves.

Goals by Kaden Black and Tre Doyon 1:25 apart in the third period were the difference.

Brett Witala and Lucas Cullen also scored in the win, while Brandon Whistle and Carter Rhine each picked up a pair of assists.

Cole Demers improved to 7-2-1 with a 2.60 goals against average on the season as he made 29 saves in the victory.

The Rockets return to action this weekend when they visit the South Island Royals for two games in Victoria.
