The Toronto Nationals qualified for the Central Regionals back in October when it was released by the GTHL that the Nationals would be the host team.
Don’t let that fool you, the Nationals were one of the best teams in Ontario this season and they enter the Regionals through the front door as GTHL Champions as well.
The Nationals also have some experience at this event recently as they won the Regionals in 2014 and went on to the TELUS Cup where they finished 4th.
Ryan Bonsteel and Justin Herman led the way for the Nationals with 34 points each during the regular season.
In net both goalies are capable of winning game as Dalton Ewing had a record of 16-1-5 with a 1.19 GAA while his partner Eric Jackson put up an 8-2-0 record and 1.92 GAA.
Don Mills Flyers
Regular Season: 22-80-3 (117 GF, 63 GA)
3rd in GTHL
Playoffs:
Defeated Mississauga Reps 9-3 (points)
Defeated Toronto Jr Canadiens 8-4 (points)
Lost to Toronto Nationals 8-6 (points)
The Don Mills Flyers enter the Central Regionals as the GTHL representative after qualifying for the event when the defeated the Toronto Jr Canadiens in the GTHL Semi Finals.
Since they were facing the host Toronto Nationals in the Finals they automatically qualified.
Don’t let the fact that they didn’t win a championship fool you though as the Flyers pushed the Nationals to 7 games in the GTHL Championship.
Mark Rozanov dominated the stats for the Flyers with 22 goals and 17 assists for a total of 39 points in 33 regular season contests.
With only 8 PIM along the way Rozanov showed that to get the points you need to stay out of the box. In net for the Flyers both goalies split duties. Marcus Paulino went 12-3-
