The BCMML showcase games last weekend at the Richmond Olympic Oval had a great turnout of fans and scouts watching the players of ten BCMML teams show their best stuff on the ice. It was a high scoring weekend with only two of the ten games ending with three or less goals, and three of the ten games ending with one team scoring seven or more goals.
The Vancouver NW Giants continue their winning streak and remain at the top of the BCMML standings by defeating the North Island Silvertips in both games this weekend. The Valley West Hawks, who defeated the Thompson Blazers 7-1 and 7-2 this weekend, kept themselves in second place with their two wins, although they are now tied with the Greater Vancouver Canadians who also won both of their games this weekend against the Kootenay Ice 4-1 and 1-0 earning their first shutout of the season.
Matt Kowalski, forward for the Okanagan Rockets, is currently the top player with three goals and four assists earning him seven points in his four games played. Matt is tied with Justin Wilson from the Vancouver NW Giants who has two goals and five assists also earning him seven points.
The boys are back at it next weekend with ten games being played throughout the province. Be sure to check the schedule and cheer on your favourite teams in person!
