It was a high scoring weekend for the AMHL. Only four of the 18 games played ended with a two or fewer goal difference, and six games ended with a difference of four or more goals. This includes Fort Saskatchewan Boston Pizza Rangers’ 8-1 win over the Calgary Buffaloes, the Calgary Flames’ 9-4 win over the SEAC Tigers, and the Calgary Buffaloes’ incredible 11-4 win over the SEAC Tigers.
This weekend put the Calgary Buffaloes on top of the league in terms of goals for, now with 71, but they remain in sixth place overall in the Chrysler Division. The Calgary Flames are currently in first place in that division with 12 wins, two losses, and a tie earning them 25 points, tied with the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs who have the same record.
In the Dodge Division, the Lloydminster Bandit Pipeline Bobcats remain in first place with 12 wins and three losses earning them 24 points. The SSAC Boston Pizza Athletics are close behind them with 10 wins, three losses, and three ties earning them 23 points.
Gary Haden from the Foothills CFR Chemical Bisons is still in first place, now with 11 goals and 19 assists earning him 30 points overall. Kyle Gordon from the Bisons is still leading the league in goals with 12, and Haden’s 19 assists put him at the top of the league, with Elijah Brown from the Athletics and Arjun Atwal also from the Athletics both in second place with 15 assists. Dow Dane, goalie for the Bobcats, is currently the goalie to watch with his 0.933 save percentage and 1.34 goals against average.
