It was a relatively low scoring weekend for the BCMML. Eight of the 10 games played ended with a three or fewer goal difference. The exceptions were an 8-1 win for the Valley West Hawks over the South Island Royals and a 5-1 win for the Okanagan Rockets over the Thompson Blazers. There were two 3-3 ties this weekend between the Vancouver NW Giants and the Greater Vancouver Canadians, and the North Island Silvertips and the Vancouver NE Chiefs.
This weekend put the first and second place teams closer together. The Giants had a win and a tie giving them the overall record of 12-4-2 and 26 points, and the Hawks had a win and a loss giving them the overall record of 12-4-1 and 25 points. The Okanagan Rockets and the Cariboo Cougars are tied for third place with 23 points each. At the bottom of the league are the Thompson Blazers, North Island Silvertips, and Kootenay Ice with only two wins each so far.
Matt Kowalski from the Okanagan Rockets is still dominating the league with 15 goals and 17 assists earning him 32 points overall. In second place is Ben Evanish from the Valley West Hawks with 21 goals and 10 assists earning him 31 points overall. Evanish is currently leading the league in goals and Luka Burzan from the Hawks is leading the league in assists with 23.
