With only one week left in the regular season, some teams are scrambling to get the last few points they need to make the playoffs. With only a few spots left every game and every point counts. Teams near the bottom of the standings are using their remaining games to try out new strategies and plays to do better next year, and the teams already qualified for playoffs are preparing themselves for the playoff fight.
The CAC Gregg Distributors are fighting for a playoff spot in the Dodge division, and they are on their way with a 2-0 win over the SEAC Tigers on Saturday and a 0-0 tie against the Calgary Northstars on Sunday. In the Chrysler Division the Calgary Buffaloes are close to a spot, and they had a 7-4 win against the Lloydminster Bandit Pipeline Bobcats, who are in first place in the Dodge Division.
Zachary Webb from the MLAC Beverly Optimists is leading the league in assists overall points with 12 goals and 38 assists earning him 50 points. Kyle Gordon from the Foothills CFR Chemical Bisons is leading the league in goals with 23.
