
The Western Kings continue to march through the Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League, improving to 14-0 with a weekend sweep of the East Coast Blizzard at the Corner Brook Civic Centre.
The Kings won 4-1 Saturday night, and followed up with a 5-1 decision Sunday. The Tri-Pen Osprey also won a pair of games, sweeping the St. John’s Maple Leafs at the Bay Arena by scores of 2-1 Saturday and 6-5 Sunday.
Four Western players hold the top five spots in the league’s scoring race. Andrew Antle leads with eight goals and 22 points in 14 games. Liam Smith is second (11-8-19), while Jonathan Anderson (3-12-15) and Kristopher Thomas (4-10-14) are fourth and fifth in scoring.
