ON/Alliance: Finals Preview

Alliance Finals:

#3 London Jr Knights vs #4 Kitchener Jr Rangers
Oct 2nd - London 5-2
Oct 25th - London 4-1
Nov 19th - Kitchener 4-2
Dec 20th - London 3-1

For the second straight year the Alliance Finals will feature a matchup of the London Jr Knights and the Kitchener Jr Rangers.  Once again the top team in the Alliance was unable to reach the finals.

The Jr Rangers knocked off the #1 ranked Windsor Jr Spitfires in back to back seasons to reach the Finals.

The Jr Knights reach the finals once again and are looking to make it 7 straight Alliance Championships.

To get here the Jr Knigths eliminated the #2 Waterloo Wolves in a 3 game sweep.

The Wolves host the Central Regionals later in March.

In regular season play the Jr Knights won the season series 3 games to 1, however the Jr Rangers team in more experienced this year and can easily look past that like they did with the Jr Spitfires.

This may have been the reason they were able to take out Windsor in 4 games.

Ryan Hopkins leads London with 12 points in 5 playoff games, while Benton Hayes leads the way for Kitchener with 10 points in 8 games.

Brock MacDonald (4-0-0) from London and Justin Hergott (3-0-1) from Kitchener are also 1 and 2 respectively in the playoffs for GAA so this could be a tight, low scoring series.  For sure it will be an entertaining one!

Prediction: London wins 8-4 (points)

Schedule:

All games in London are played at the Western Fair Sport Centre

All games in Kitchener are played at Activa Arena
