COLE HARBOUR — Cape Breton Tradesmen goaltender Liam MacDonald made 55 saves to backstop his team to a 3-2 win over the Cole Harbour Wolfpack in Nova Scotia EastLink Major Midget Hockey League playoff action on Thursday.
With the win, the Tradesmen lead the best-of-seven league quarter-final series, 3-2. They can close things out when they host Cole Harbour on Saturday at the County Recreation Centre in Coxheath beginning at 8 p.m.
Daniel Reid scored twice, including the winner with 50 seconds to go in the game. He also added an assist. Dylan Morley scored and added two helpers, while Branden Dauphinee assisted on all three goals.
Alex Arab and Shaun Miller replied for Cole Harbour. Wolfpack netminder Ryan Huestis made 27 saves in the loss.
